can’t cook, won’t cook

Let me tell you about me when hungry I don’t like cooking I just raid the fridge and eat whatever I find bread, some salad, cheese, chocolates anything and if there is nothing I would rather go to the store to buy chips.

I wish I could cook… but…“I don’t know how to cook” but I am learning to sincerely, ask youtube, my trusty instructor, however only if and when I am in the mood to.

In the kitchen I am the miss perfect with a workstation really clean, finely cuts a lot of seasoning really dedicated to her cooking with the same result always without any variation, horrible food!Cooking anything without any instructions is a feat I have never accomplished and if they are present neither do I follow them correctly, so when the instruction on the packet of instant noodle says;
1. Break the noodle cake into 4 parts

  1. Boil 1.5 cups of water
  2. Add noodles and tastemaker to it
  3. Cook for two minutes in open pan with occasional stirring
  4. Do not drain water… Serve Hot!!

Doesn’t sound difficult? Trust me it is especially when your stomach making a loud rumbling noise from hunger and your feet ache from standing too long. So I say what the hell, why wait so long? In the end, after using a good half an hour for two-minute noodles I get a bowl of semi-cooked noodles. With so much of effort put it, I figure why to let it go waste eventually I always end up eating (corrections I just taste a little and go Yuck! and then I eat the bowl clean)

Very humble salutations to people who manage to cook and it also happens to taste so good.  You are envied and very special always remember that.

I understand I can’t make them but who said I fall in the section of people who are not allowed to watch cookery shows, hence begins my fascination for cookery shows. I’ll watch anything on TV if the food looks delicious and voila! Fancy. My only conditions are the shows should be in the languages I know Nepali, Hindi or English (it would be even nicer if the ingredients were available locally or if they didn’t have complicated names), Can’t say I didn’t try the internet.

My search being simple, quick, easy, tasty snack not salads of any kind, not sure/no clue under which category they fall. With luck on my side and with the blessing of food gods, one day I found my Patty for my veg-burger and it looked fairly easy (I know my cooking skills)

The end result was supposed to look like this

best-veggie-burger-recipe-5240

Mine looked not even like its distant cousin, by no fault of the recipe or instruction I just perform greatly unsatisfactory in this area.

Sorry photo not included because the first thought that came to my mind was not clicking it was eating.

But the recipe is, want to try? I cant cook and now I won’t cook but when the memory of this adventure fades I’ll cook again for I may not be a cook but I am definitely not a quitter. I may report on my next cooking adventure soon.

NB: the cookery show obsession has taken a halt, for now, watching DIY tutorials have begun. Of the result of my hard work here too remains the same, horrible!

I’m almost choking on my morning coffee, laughing, trying to keep reading through misty eyes, inhaling the coffee so I can be sure I’m awake. Too funny! I didn’t know you were a comedian. Send more! Send more!

Oh calamity … come on, you can do it! Go for the simple stuff that you like. There is so much BS talked about cookery and recipes: good ingredients and a simple recipe and you can’t go wrong, I reckon
